AltaCima is a family-owned business whose guiding principle is excellence, of its wines and its operation, and which in turn reflects the winemakers’ constant search for top quality wines.
Klaus Schröder, head winemaker and owner of AltaCima winery arrived in Chile in 1965 as winemaker for Viña San Pedro. Six years later he married Katharina Hanke and in 1974 the Schröder Hanke couple, with a thorough knowledge of micro-terroirs of the Central-south winegrowing areas of Chile, bought and planted 62 hectares of vineyards in the Lontué Valley.
In 2000 they finished building their own winery, Viña Altacima.  In 2001, their aspirations were realized and a new stage in their lives began with the production of the 2001 vintage of  Premium Reserve blended wine, AltaCima 6330.
