This company dedicated to wine production is closely linked to Don Alejandro Dussaillant Proutet, a French wine producer who emigrated to Chile in 1874. Once settled in the country he immediately began to plant vineyards in the Lontué Valley of the Curico province.
His son Alejandro Dussaillant Louandre inherited the winery and transformed it into Chile’s largest winery in the first half of the 20th century, with over 1,200 hectares of planted vineyards.
En 1955, his eldest grandson, Patricio Dussaillant BenÃtez, began his own wine business and in 1991 created a family-owned company in partnership with his children.
The winery’s cellars are located 184 kms south of Santiago, alongside the Chile’s main highway Longitudinal Sur. It has a production capacity of 6,1 million liters in stainless steel and epoxy-lined cement tanks. The cellar has state-of-the-art technology winemaking equipment for both bulk and bottled wines.
Today the winery owns around 170 hectares of different grape varieties spread out over four lots, all located in the Curico province. The most noteworthy varieties are Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Gewutztraminer, Semillon, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Malbec, Merlot, Carménère and Aspirant Bouschet.
