The Echeverria family originates in the small village Amezqueta of the Basque mountain region, near San Sebastian in the province of Guipuzcoa. In 1740, the Echeverria family emigrated and settled in Chile and from the start played a prominent role in Chilean agriculture.
In the early 20th century the family established its current Echeverria vineyards in Molina in the Curico Valley, the heart of Chilean winegrowing regions. Since then Viña Echeverría has grown grapes from the best pre-phylloxera French grape varieties and its cellars produce fine quality wines.
In 1992, Viña Echeverría began marketing its wines around the world under its own label, which bears the family name.
