Viña Inés Escobar has a long family tradition and is already in its third generation. It was founded in 1920 by Don Alfonso Villablanca Escobar in the Santa Carmen Estate, located in Sagrada Familia, Curico province. The family business began with 420 hectares of vineyards and winemaking cellar with a 3-million liter capacity.
In 1950, Alberto Diez Berdion took over management of the estate and planted olive, avocado and orange trees. He also had the foresight to purchase three other estates: San Luis, San Félix y Montecristo. Today the estate produces fine wine for the bulk wine export market.
In 1980 Don Alberto Diez handed the estate over to his children Carmen Gloria, Luis Alberto and José Miguel Diez Escobar who still manage the business today.
Currently, Empresas Diez Escobar EDE, is a family-owned business dedicated to the production and marketing of its own wines and for others, as well as the production of fruits and fruit cooling and packing services.
