Viña San Pedro

The foundations of Viña San Pedro were forged in 1865, when brothers Bonifacio and José Gregorio Correa Albano – this family’s fifth generation – purchased the vineyards planted by their ancestors and began the first wines with local grape varieties.  These varieties were later replaced by noble French grapes imported from the southern France and Germany and helped establish the Curico winegrowing valley.

Later, in the 1960s and 1980s, San Pedro launched two emblematic wines:  Gato in 1960 and Castillo de Molina, a reserve wine, in 1980.
In the late 1990s an extensive investment program in new plantings, winemaking, bottling and storage capacity was begun.  It also included a search for new and better winegrowing land, which allowed the winery to expand its production, winemaking and sales capacity.  At the same time, premium wines Cabo de Hornos and 35º Sur were released.  Currently, Viña San Pedro is the oldest and largest winery belonging to the VSP Wine Group.
