Founded by Lorena Folâtre Briones, Benjamín González’s wife, well-known businessman of the fruit and retail sector, to honor Hermond Folâtre, the owner’s grandfather, who came from France in the last century to live in Chile, specifically in Pichamán in Maule region.
Located 15 kms from Curicó, on the way to La Montaña, the winery is aimed at the premium wines making, with a production capacity of 3 million liters distributed in tanks of little volume, an aging room with a capacity for 800 barrels and another bottling room for 2.000 bottles per hour. This capacity also allows to provide vinification, bottling and labeling services to other prestigious companies.
It has 120 hectares of vineyards distributed in the Central Valley, from which three wine lines are born; being the main line the one of the sparkling wines “Gran Brut Folâtre”, made with the Champenoise method, and “Brut Folâtre”, with the Charmat method, the latter was awarded with gold medals in the “Concours Mondial de Bruxelles” and a Bronce Medal in the “International Wine Challenge”. To make these sparkling wines the winery had the collaboration of Georges Blanck, french adviser of great experience and ex-director of Moët Chandon, French leading Champagne making company.
